We are accepting students with backgrounds in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or Electrical Engineering. We are also accepting people working in industry who have a technical background and related work experience.The pathway into the program assumes a student has knowledge that is equivalent to the Wright State courses: CEG 5310 (Machine Organization), CS 5100 (Data Structures and Algorithms) and CEG 6350 (OS Internals and Design). We allow students who do not have formal training in these areas, but have significant experience to take a proficiency exam in each area. We also offer a free online course that will allow students with a technical background but limited experience in the computer area to take a single online course covering the material in these prerequisite courses and then enter the program. A minimum combined GRE score of 298 (1050 under the old scale) is required. The GRE requirement is waived for:
- Students with at least three years of working experience who pass either the proficiency exams or the online proficiency course described above
- Applicants from a U.S. institution with a graduate degree in a science or engineering field
- Wright State engineering applicants with a BS degree and minimum GPA of 3.3
- Non-degree Computer Science or Engineering graduate students with 9 or more hours of Computer Science and Engineering graduate courses with a GPA of 3.3 or higher

How much will this course cost?Graduate tuition fees are $564 per credit hour for Ohio residents.

Beginning Fall 2014, the entire program requires a total of 31 semester hours of work including 13 hours of core courses, 12 hours of security electives and 6 hours of security project or thesis.
The Cyber Security Core courses are:
